Keele Elder is the co-founder and co-designer of Desert Island Friends. Keele has a background in Fashion, Interior Design and Finance. Keele is a military spouse and mother of 2 highly energetic and creative boys. Keele lives to design and create all things. She received her first sewing lesson at 6 years old from her grandmother and got her first (very own) sewing machine at 11 years old.
The military provides many great opportunities to its families; but one of the hardest is when a soldier is away. This is why she has such a passion to create a “comfort” or ‘friend” for those who really need them while giving back to the community. A percentage of our proceeds go directly to providing Soldier Friends for the little ones who are missing their deployed family members.
Keele enjoys baking and was once dubbed “The Cupcake Lady”. In her actual spare time, she loves to paint. Her favorite thing to do is to make forts, build Legos and play with her children (and husband when he is not away). Fun fact: Keele is addicted to Kimchi and Clorox wipes (the green ones).
